Abstract
638,727. Winding yam. ARUNDEL, COULTHARD & CO., Ltd., and PILKINGTON, F. March 20, 1948, No. 8339. [Class 120 (ii)] In a yarn winding machine, in which the rate of turning of the traverse cam a is varied to prevent the production of pattern effects in the cheese &c. being wound, the cam a is driven by a lever b which at one end engages between lugs c on the side of the cam a, at its other end is engaged by a driving pin d on a gear wheel e and at an intermediate point is journalled upon an eccentric bush f revolved by a second gear wheel g, the wheels e, g being co-axial and driven by wheels h, i, from a shaft k, which rotates in unison with the cheese-driving drums, at slightly different speeds. The gear wheel e is preferably journalled on a concentric portion of the eccentric bush f.
