Abstract
637,705. Two-part couplings. GUARDIAN ELECTRIC MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 25, 1948, No. 5596. Convention date, Aug. 18, 1941. [Class 38 (i)] A socket contact 20 comprises a U-shaped strip the edges of which are inturned and notched at 33 to provide spring fingers 34 with edges which bite into a co-operating pin contact. The upper ends of the legs 28, 29 are flanged at 39, 40 respectively the former constituting a soldering tag. Said flanges also serve as supports when a number of such sockets are mounted in rectangular holes in rows in an insulating plate 15, Fig. 1, being clamped thereto by a further plate 17 riveted to the plate 15. The plates are supported by flanged metal end plates 10, 11. A multiplecontact plug comprising pins riveted to an insulating plate 21 co-operate with the sockets.
