Abstract

553,280. Thermionic valve holders. CINCH MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. Nov. 21, 1941, No. 15009. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1940. [Class 38 (i)] The contacts of a valve holder are formed with a pair of resiliently compressible side members having outwardly extending projections that engage between a pair of superposed plates forming a support when passed upwardly through an aperture in the lower plate. The side members 12 are formed by bending from a strip and carry reflexed contact surfaces 13 of rounded form furnished with sharp projections 17 to engage a valve pin &c. inserted between them. At the bend 14 each side member carries projections 18 to engage the upper surface of the plate 2 and to be held between it and the upper plate 1. The aperture 5 in the plate 2 is so shaped that when the side members 12 are pressed together they will pass upwards through the aperture, the projections 18 passing through extensions 7 of the aperture. The contact is then turned until the side members 12 can separate resiliently and enter the extensions 7 with the projections 18 fitting over the edges thereof.
