630,475. Sewing-machines. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd. (United Shoe Machinery Corporation). Nov. 29, 1947, No. 31610. Addition to 581,060. [Class 112] Corner-sewing machines. In order that the worksupport of a machine for stitching together pieces of sheet material at an angle may be readily adapted for use with workpieces having square edges and pieces having sharp or blunt bevels, the apex of the recess receiving the workpieces is formed in a removable, interchangeable member which can be replaced by a similar member with a different-shaped recess. In the form shown, in a work-support according to the parent Specification, the interchangeable member is a cylinder 16, located angularly by a pin 18 entering a recess in its left-hand end and laterally by a clamping plate 22 carrying the guide tongue 14 which passes through a slot in the member 16 to enter between the workpieces. Trimming.-To trim the work after sewing, a knife 30 is clamped in a guideway in the work-support.
