Abstract
629,506. Combined coupler and buffer. BUTTERLEY CO., Ltd., and HOGG, J. L. Nov. 10, 1947, No. 29846. [Class 103 (v)] In a combined coupler and buffer for mine cars, pit tubs and similar vehicles, each buffer is hollowed out to form a recess, the floor of which inclines downwardly away from the buffing faces and the coupling link d rests, when uncoupled, on said floor with its rear end projecting through an opening in the back of the recess. When two such buffers are brought together to be coupled, the link d is pushed forward into the recess of the opposite buffer and engaged by the appropriate pin f. Removal of the pin f allows the link d to fall back to its original position.
