Abstract

628,360. Vapour burners. TILBURN, C. L. Aug. 8, 1947, No. 22038. [Class 75(i)] In oil burning apparatus for furnace and like heating the oil is supplied through a feed pipe 12 to fall vertically on to a vaporizing element 7 through the centre of a vortex of whirling gases produced by the admission of air tangentially through openings 5, 6 in the walls 2, 3 of an annular member disposed at the base of the combustion chamber. The oil is preheated during its. passage through the vortex. The fuel feed pipe 12 is provided with a removable plug 14 to facilitate cleaning.
