Abstract

627,360. Endless-belt conveyers. HALL, H. June 18, 1947, No. 16051. [Class 78 (i)] A scraper for cleaning the return run of a belt, or for discharging material from the upper run, comprises a member 7 made of rubber or steel which is supported between cover plates 1, 2 provided with seals 3, 4 and a supporting bar 5 by a series of straps 10, each of which is secured at one end to a shaft 9 and at the other end either to the plate 1 or to the scraper. A spring, pulley weight, or a weighted arm 11 connected to the shaft by a pawl and ratchet tends to turn it in the direction of the arrow 13. A rubber scraper and a steel scraper arranged in tandem may be provided to remove dry and wet material respectively.
