Abstract
627,317. Suspending curtains. McPHERSON, C. M., and VAB PRODUCTS, Ltd. Nov. 20, 1946, No. 34458. [Class 52 (v)] Curtain rail supporting means comprise brackets 13 for attaching to a wall, ceiling or other support, provided with downwardly opening grooves 11 the front walls of which have obliquely disposed holes 19 to accommodate screws 20, the leading ends of which engage an overhanging portion 3 provided cn the upper fixing edge of the inverted T-shaped rail. The upper fixing edge of the rail is widened and tapered downwardly on one side to provide the overhanging screw-engaging portion 3. The front faces of the front walls of the grooves may be similarly tapered from the upper. ends or provided with portions 18 so tapered, the sloping faces so formed being adapted to receive the rail fixing screws. Grooved junction pieces may be provided for interconnecting adjoining sections of the rail. The brackets provide suitable supports for a straight or bent rail and allow for the rail being fixed in position after the brackets have been secured to the support. The curtain runners comprise rings 26 freely supported through a wire loop 25 on the free upper ends of which are mounted rollers 5 adapted to run on the flanges of the rail.
