624,717. Antiseptic tooth-brush sheath. BOOSS, E. Oct. 28, 1946, No. 31873. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1945. [Class 81(i)] [Also in Group XXIII] A tooth-brush protector comprises an antiseptic envelope or hood of textile fabric adapted to be slipped over the bristle end of a tooth-brush and is surrounded by a rigid sheath which is adapted to seat on an enlargement provided on the tooth brush handle. In the drawings, the tooth brush handle is enlarged and a portion 3 is provided over which is removably fitted a sheath 4, the internal cross-section of which corresponds with that of the portion 3 so that the sheath is closed air-tight. The sheath 4, which may be of synthetic resin, millboard, unbreakable glass, textile, aluminium or chromium plated sheet iron, contains an envelope 5 of fabric, e.g. of surgical gauze, which fits tightly inside the sheath and has a reinforced tip 6. The envelope is impregnated with an antiseptic solution which may be perfumed and contains essential oils acting as disinfecting and taste-correcting agents as well as a volatile disinfectant preferably of the formaldehyde group. A number of such gauze envelopes may be packed in a separate closed container, Fig. 4, not shown). The tooth-brush handle may be detachable from the bristle portion as shown. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect 91 states that the gauze envelope may be used with an ordinary tooth brush. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
