Abstract

623,149. Centrifugal fans ABBEY, A. (Aktiebolaget Svenska Flakt-Fabriken). April 21, 1947, No. 10648. [Class 110(i)] Blades, fixing. In a fan-wheel comprising blades mounted between two substantially plane annular discs (with or without similar intermediate supporting discs), in which the blades enter apertures in the discs, each blade part is secured to its disc in such a way that the disc material adjacent to the aperture is deformed so that it presses against the blade. The blade is preferably formed with projections to locate it in the discs. In the form shown, for a fan having blades 5 which are relatively long in an axial direction and are secured to several plane rings 3, of which one end is secured to a flange of a hub, each ring is formed with apertures 8 to receive the blade, each aperture having tongues 9 which are deformed when the blade is inserted and press against the blade to secure it; each blade 5 has projections 11 pressed up to lie on either side of each ring to locate the ring on the blade.
