Abstract
622,521. Hasp locks. CHENEY & SON, Ltd., C. W., and CHENEY, C. W. March 18, 1947, No. 7417. Addition to 575,304. [Class 44] In a hasp lock of the kind described in the parent Specification, a carrier plate having a key hole therein is fixed inside the hollow knob and provided with means for connecting the knob to the bolt member, and with gated ward lugs extending from the carrier plate for co-operation with a key. The plate member preferably comprises a sheet metal pressing 7 raised to an approximate U-shape and incorporating a plate 8 fitting within the hollow knob 4 and riveted thereto at 9, a channelled lug 10 extending from the piate, with a gated or stepped, formation extending along the edges of the vertical limbs of the lug 10. The lug 10 is only slightly wider than the key hole. The web of the lug is extended into a tongue 14, which together with an opposite tongue 15 serve to connect the ward member to the bolt 3. In another form, a gated channel 18, Fig. 7, is formed integrally with the plate 8 and consists of a pair of slotted parallel side plates 19 flanking the key hole.
