Abstract

614,982. Wrenches. BOWDITCH, H. G., and HILLIER, B. C. July 26, 1946, No. 22342. [Class 61 (iii)] A device for removing stoppers or lids from bottles or like containers comprises a metal plate 1 having angularly disposed metal jaws 3, 5 attached to one face, between which the stopper is gripped for rotation. The jaws are formed by metal strips 3, 5 attached to a channel 2 pressed from the plate in the form of a V. One or both jaws may be provided with saw-like teeth. According to a modification, the channel 2 may be dispensed with and packing strips provided between the jaws and a plain back plate.
