[Class 61 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] A device for removing bottle stoppers comprises two flat metal jaws A, B, pivoted together at C, each jaw having a serrated concave portion D oppositely disposed for gripping the stopper, and means to hold the jaws in a folded or collapsed position, whereby the jaws overlie one upon the other. Each jaw may have a flanged edge, and the securing means may comprise a spring-leaf clip E pivoted at one end to one of the jaws and having its other end E<SP>1</SP> hook-shaped for clipping over the flange of the other jaw. In a modification, the securing means may be provided by forming a cut-out on the inner edge of one jaw and joggling the so-formed lip to receive and retain the inner edge of the other jaw. The device may also be provided with a corkscrew, a shoe horn, and upon one jaw may be formed a knife-blade and a screwdriver edge, and upon the other a can opener.
