Abstract
610,811. Flushing drain-traps. BURKHARDT, E., BURKHARDT, M., and BURKHARDT, W., (trading as BURKHARDT'S SOHNE, J.). Feb. 13, 1945, No. 3612. Convention date, March 11. 1944. [Class 33] [Also in Group XXVIII] In an S-shaped drain-trap 1 in which the bottom of the bend is formed with a socket 2 for a flushing member 3 the bore 4 of which is closable as by means of a removable cap-nut 8, the axis of the bore 4 extends at an acute angle to that of the socket 2. The cap-nut 8 may carry packing, manipulating projections 12, and a plug 9 to fill the passage 4. A hollow plug 10 with jet holes at its end, and the sleeve 6 of a flexible supply pipe, may be secured to the member 3 by means of a nut 7 with manipulating projections 11. The nuts 7, 8 may engage threads 5 on the member 3, and the passage 4 may be fitted with a strainer. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that the bore 4 and socket 2 may be co-axial. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
