Abstract

609,176. Window channel guides. TRIGGS, W. W. (Standard Products Co.). March 8, 1946, No. 7256. [Class 20(iii)] In a guide for window-panes, (e.g. in vehicles), or other panels having a channel section core A, at least one side wall of the channel has a longitudinal rib, and the core has transverse slots 18 extending across the base and into the side walls to facilitate longitudinal bending of the channel, and at least some of the parts between the slots are reinforced by transverse corrugations 22. In the form shown. the core is of sheet metal and is covered with felt or other material B. Each side wall has an inwardly extending rib 15 for laterally supporting a window-pane and is strengthened at its free unbroken edge by a bent over portion 16 which may enclose longitudinal reinforcing wires (not shown). The guide is shown mounted in a channel groove of a window frame.
