Abstract

979,676. Glazing strips. HALLAM, SLEIGH & CHESTON Ltd. Nov. 4, 1963 [Aug. 4, 1962], No. 30095/62. Heading E1R. A pane 1 is mounted in a frame 3 having a longitudinal recess 6 by a resilient glazing strip 2 provided with a channel 9 for tightlytaking the pane and which seats upon the frame 5 and has an outer flexible buttress wall 7 and an obliquely-disposed wedge-sectioned longitudinal groove 11, a separate retaining strip 12 of wedge section and having a longitudinal recess in its wider end being insertable into the groove 11 with one corner portion 15 engaged in the recess 6 so that the other corner portion 16 seats upon the outer portion 13 of the frame 3 to cause the buttress section 7 to press against the pane. The shape of recess 6 may be as indicated by broken line 6<SP>1</SP>. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates a modification in which the double glazing panels are mounted in a single rubber glazing strip.
