[Class 61 (iii)] For engagement with a nut in a lateral direction the ratchet-wheel of a ratchet spanner is divided into halves 7, 8 pivoted together at 9 and urged to closed position by a spring pin 17 engaging a projection 18 and for assembly with the wheel the handle and head are formed in two parts I, 2 pivoted together scissors fashion on a pin 3 and normally tending to open under the influence of a spring plunger 22 and held closed by a ring 21.
