Abstract
608,113. Agricultural 1 implements. ROADS, H. C. Feb. 15, 1946, No. 4813. [Class 6(i)] [Also in Group XXXII] Relates to draught-pole devices by which a tractor pulls along a plurality of harrows arranged side by side. According to the invention, a harrow pole comprises a relatively long main frame member 1 with a short frame member 2 arranged transversely to it, the long member being provided at its ends with detachable ground wheels 8 which may be transferred to the ends of the short member to reduce the width of the device in transport. In the form shown, the short member, of tubular construction, is provided with a detachable draught link 5 secured in one of its ends 4 by a pin passing through aligned holes in the link and tube. The ground wheels 8 are mounted on short stub axles which are retained in the ends of the main-frame in a like manner. Draught chains 17 connect the harrows 18 with the harrow pole. For transport, the wheels are transferred to the ends of the short member 2 and the draught link is then moved to one of the positions previously occupied by the wheels. Retractable sprags (see Group XXXII) support the device during this change-over.
