[Class 79 (iii)] A device used for jacking up a tractor of the type provided with a power unit adapted to rotate or oscillate a transverse shaft b mounted on the tractor and carrying arms c pivoted to the upper ends of lift rods d the lower ends of which are connected to a pair of laterally spaced towing links e, comprises a beam f pivotally connected at its front end to a ground engaging member g, h, and adapted to be detachably connected to one of the towing links (Fig. 1) so that it can raise the tractor when the power unit is operated or to the lower end of one of the lift rods (Fig. 2) so that the beam bears under a portion of the tractor to raise the same when the power unit is operated. In a modification, the beam, instead of being connected to the ground engaging member is pivotally connected at one end to the lower end of one of the lift rods and at 'the other end to one end of an auxiliary beam member which is pivotally connected between its ends to the ground engaging member and has the end opposite to that connected to the beam adapted to engage beneath the front axle of the tractor the arrangement being such that when the power unit is operated the beam bears under a rear portion of the tractor and by depressing the rear. end of the auxiliary beam member causes the front end of this beam to raise the front axle. A similar device may be employed at each side of the tractor if it is desired to raise both front wheels simultaneously. If it is required to raise both the rear wheels one beam is connected at each side to a towing link and two ground engaging members are employed. The height of the ground engaging members may be adjustable.
