Abstract
599,245. Agricultural implements. ALLISON, T. C. June 21, 1946, No. 18729. [Class 6 (i)] A tractor tool-bar assembly comprises a pair of arms 1 pivoted on a fixed axis 2 at the rear of the tractor and carrying at their free ends a pair of arms 5 carrying tool-bars 12, 13, the latter arms being provided with upstanding members 6, 7 which resiliently engage a third arm 8 pivoted about a second fixed axis 9. The resilient connection comprises a pin 25, carried by the upstanding members 6, 7, located in a slot in the arm 8 and held by compression springs 26 and tension springs 28. This connection permits temporary displacement of the tools upon encountering obstructions. The tool-bars are lifted either by power means (not shown) or manually by a lever 34 and links 31, 32. The arms are arranged to maintain the tool-bars, during lifting, parallel to the ground.
