606,276. Cleaning heat-exchanger tubes. AKT. - GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Oct. 25, 1945, No. 28175. Convention date, June 21. [Class 99 (ii)] A method of removing soot from the heatexchanger tubes of gas-turbine plants, the surfaces of which are subjected on one side to air under pressure and on the other side to gaseous products of combustion, is characterised in that part of the air traversing the tubes for the operation of the turbine is utilised for this cleaning. Single tubes a are constructed as air-jet tubes by being perforated at g so that air can blow out. The air traverses the other tubes in the direction d and is let into one end of the tube a by means of a valve c. The other end of the tube a can be stopped as at b or provided with a valve similar to c so that some of the heated as well as the cold air can be used for the cleaning.
