[Class 4] [Also in Group XXVI] The sustaining and propulsive blades of a helicopter, as described in Specifications 601,911 and 601,912, are equipped with jet propulsion units of their outer extremities. The axis of the unit is traversed to the blade 7 and may be set above or below the blade axis to counteract residual gyroscopic effect. The compressor 155 is driven by the turbine 156 through a direction reversing gear 161.
