Abstract
599,125. Actuation of switches. BAMFORD & CO., Ltd., F., BAMFORD, F., and MARTIN, S. May 8, 1946, No. 13881. [Class 38(v)] [Also in Group XXIX] Within the casing 10 of an alarm device for indicating conditions in a fluid system there is formed on the boss 18 of a weighted vane 17 a helical groove 28 which is engaged by a chamfered roller 26 mounted on a plunger 25. The plunger is secured to and passes through a diaphragm 30 and carries at the outer end an adjustable abutment screw 35. Rotation of the vane due to the fluid flow thus causes axial movement of the plunger 25 which closes a relay or a switch of an indicating or alarm system. The roller 26 and groove 28 may be replaced by a nut and screw.
