Abstract
704,547. Actuation of switches. TAYLOR, J. L. Jan. 15, 1952 [March 31, 1951], No. 7508/51. Class 38(5) [Also in Group XXIX] An alarm sensitive to fluid flow or liquid level and giving an indication when fluid flow commences or ceases or when the liquid level deviates from a desired value, comprises a T-shaped casing 10 having a bush 17 fitted in its inlet 12 and extending into the casing to engage a cap-like valve member 14 mounted on a rotatable shaft 15. On e.g., the commencement of fluid flow, the valve member 14 is raised to rotate the shaft 15 which is operably connected through a cam to an electric switch to operate an alarm, &c., or to a valve controlling the flow of an operating fluid, an alarm and/or cut-out device. The vertical limb of the casing which accommodates the valve member 14 when it is open may be closed by a removable cover. Specification 533,928 is referred to.
