Abstract
596,835. Binding-posts. SPORING, P. A., BENTLEY, N. H., and TELEGRAPH CONDENSER CO., Ltd. Aug. 9, 1945, No. 20425. [Class 38 (i)] A terminal comprises a tubular insulator 1 of inorganic material, e.g. glass or porcelain, supported by a metal sealing ring 4 which is secured to a panel 6 and a metal cap 2 to which a conductor 5 is soldered at 8. A soldering lug 3 or other contact may be carried by the cap. The insulator and the ring and cap have substantially the same coefficient of expansion, e.g. for a glass insulator, the ring and cap may be made of copper or of metal, known by the Registered Trade Mark " Kovar." For porcelain, parts of the insulator are metallized, the ring and cap being soldered to these parts.
