[Class 110 (iii)] The combustion chambers are arranged in a circular assembly around the compressor, or, in one arcuate group, or, two balanced arcuate groups. The combustion chambers may be arranged to touch one another. Also, they may be lenticular with their smaller dimension radial and adjacent chambers connected by short rods. Each combustion chamber has an outer shell in which the compressed air passes in contra-flow and is connected to compressor and turbine by pipes which leave it free to expand.
