Abstract

585,398. Gas turbines. ARMSTRONG SIDDELEY MOTORS, Ltd., and HEPPNER, F. A. M. March 28, 1945, No. 7116/44. [Class 110 (iii)] Air delivered by the air-compressor 11 passes into an annular diffussor passage 15. The larger part continues through the passages 17 into the delivery end of the combustion chambers and the rest passes through an annular duct 22 to a supercharger 23 and thence through crossing ducts 24 to the space surrounding the combustion chambers. The delivery ends of the combustion chambers are formed of overlapping plates providing between them tangential inlets to the combustion chambers for the air in the surrounding space.
