592,078. Sliding-clasp fasteners. WENDE, H. July 14, 1944, No. 13530. Convention date, July 15, 1943. [Class 44] A sliding-clasp fastener comprises bead and grooved members 1, 2 respectively made of resilient flexible material and having interengaging longitudinal grooves 11, 1<11> and tongues 2<1>, 2<11> of triangular semi-circular or dovetail cross section, a tongue and groove on one side of the fastening being staggered with reference to the tongue and groove on the other side. A modification is shown with an additional tongue having a thickened edge projecting from the bottom of the channel of the grooved member 2 and adapted to engage in a groove in the edge of the bead. A slider adapted to draw the bead and groove into engagement comprises side plates 71 with curved edges 711 engaging round the groove and a channel part 8 having hollow tongues 10, 101 adapted to draw the grooves and tongues into engagement.
