[Classes 16 and 146 (i)] A suspension bar or a connecting clip for use with suspended filing folders is made of inverted channel-shape and has a flat outer surface for supporting an index label and longitudinal grooves between the surface and the depending sides for the reception of the interned edges of a transparent sheath for the label. In the form shown in Fig. 2 which is used to connect the suspension bars of adjacent folders, the sides 1, 2 are inclined towards one another and are formed integrally with a T-shaped head providing a flat surface 10 upon which the label 23 is placed and grooves 7 to receive the inturned edges 9 of the transparent sheath 8. The clip is relatively short and preferably has bulges 17 in the sides for engagement with one of a series of holes in the suspension bar to position it as required. The bulges may be replaced by horizontal tongues and the holes by vertical slots. Each side 1, 2 is cut away at one end to facilitate placing the clips in position. In a modified form, Fig. 5, the clip is long enough to constitute the suspension bar and has a separate strip 20 secured thereto to form the flat label receiving surface and the grooves 7 for the sheath 8. Beadings 19 on the sides engage reinforcing strips on the edges of the folder.
