Abstract

858,658. Indexing tabs. SHANNON Ltd. Aug. 22, 1957 [Aug. 22, 1956], No. 25668/56. Class 16. A file 6, card 2 or the like, having at a straight edge a protruding portion 10 of which at least a part is bent at an angle to the surface of the file 6 or card 2 along a line substantially parallel to the straight edge, is combined with a sheath 8 shaped in sross-section as an inner and an outer L 14, 12 which embrace the protruding portion 10 and the adjoining part of the card and are joined at 16 around the outer edge of the portion 10. As shown, a separate strip 10 is secured to the file or card and is provided with indicia on its outer faces 20, 22. The sheath is transparent and the free ends are close together so that they are clamped on to the card in use. A lip 18 on the outer L portion 12 prevents downward movement.
