Abstract

588,464. Propelling ships. HOPE, J. G. A. WAY-, and PINNIGER, W. S. Feb. 19, 1945, No. 4187. [Class 114] A mounting device, for outboard motors, having a vertical driving shaft 24, comprises a supporting member 10, in the form of one or more hooked arms 17, clamped to the stern 12 of the boat by plates 21, and a horizontal rail 13 which is pivotally engaged by a hook 23, carried by an engine member 22, fixed to the engine 45, and a locking member 15, adapted removably to receive the driving shaft 24. Fig. 5 shows the device in a tilted position, bringing a strut member 40 into use when the engine is swung round the rail 13.
