588,021. Covers for resisting fluid pressure. MORRIS, C. Jan. 25, 1945, No. 2055. [Class 123 (i)] A cap A for a fire extinguisher, water softener or other pressure vessel has two projecting handles and two diametrically opposite wedgeshaped lugs a', or cam ledges or grooves, which engage corresponding cam ledges b or grooves, or wedge-shaped lugs, on a collar B carried by the vessel, the cam ledges or grooves each terminating in a projection b' over which the lugs a<1> must pass for the removal of the cap, so that removal of the cap is prevented until the internal pressure of the vessel has been released. The lugs may be inside or outside the caps, and the cam ledges or grooves outside or inside the collar.
