Abstract

582,926. Hinges &c. STERNER, B. Oct. 6, 1944, No. 19222. [Class 65 (ii)] In a casement or the like window 1 hinged at both top and bottom to its frame 2 by means of pivots engaging channels in or attached to the frame and also connected to the frame preferably at the top and the bottom by links 7 pivoted to the frame and to the casement, at least the bottom pivot 4 is conical and engages in a channel 5 having correspondingly inclined sides. As shown, the pivot 4 is carried by a bar 3 inlet in the bottom of the casement. In a modification the pivot is attached or integrally formed with plates or angle-pieces, secured to the corner of the casement and engages in a channel in a bracket secured to the frame. The conical pivot may be replaced by a conical roller.
