Abstract

579,987. Discharge apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. (General Electric Co.). Sept. 24, 1943, No. 15741. [Class 39 (i)] A magnetron comprises spaced anode elements 12 and 13 and a cathode structure including elements 18 and 19 and electron emissive means 29 in the gap between elements 18 and 19. The magnetic field is provided by a coil 55. Elements 18 and 19 may be connected to the middle of the cathode filament 29. Elements 18 and 19 may also be connected in such a fashion that they resonate at the operating frequency of the tube which increases the operating efficiency of the apparatus. Specification 408,641 is referred to.
