Abstract

579,885. Tubular lamp fittings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., PHILLIPS, L. E. A., and DURRANT, D. W. Oct. 26, 1942, No. 14995. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] A lighting fitting for fluorescent tubular lamps comprises a casing 1 extending the whole length of the lamp 3 and having its base formed partly or wholly by a detachable reflector 2 to which the lamp is secured by clips 4, the circuit elements 6 such as a stabilizing impedance and starting switch being mounted on a plate 5 which may be swung downwards about its pivots 7 on the removal of the reflector and the operation of catches 8. The reflector may be secured to the casing 1 by wing-nuts 9 at both ends or by a wing nut at one end and hinge at the other. The fitting may be suspended from the ceiling by chains attached to a rod 16 to T-pieces 21 slidable in a channel 19 extending along the top of the casing 1.
