579,252. Bearings. POWER JETS, Ltd., and WALKER, D. N. July 30, 1943, No. 12441. [Class 12 (i)] A ball or roller cage has axial bores for cooling air which may convey lubricant. A roller cage comprises members 4. 5 with bores 4A, 5A leading to axial bores 3A in the rollers 3, the bores 4A, 5A being inclined to form scoop and ejector effects to promote air flow. The rollers may also have lubricant passages 3B leading from the bores 3A. Further air passages 4B, 5B may be provided in the cage between the rollers. In the case of a ball bearing, the passages 4B, 5B alone are provided.
