Abstract
571,818. Vehicle couplings. COLLING- HAM, J., and KEEP, G. E. June 3, 1943, No. 8953. [Class 103 (v)] Coupling means for tractor vehicles comprises an inverted U-shape framing C to which are secured separate cross-bars D spaced one above the other and provided with holes E to receive vertical bolts for attachment of a coupling member in the form of a bar or pair of bars, one end of which passes through a horizontal slot F formed in the cross-bars D. The vertical spacing of the cross-bars D allows attachment of the coupling member at a suitable height; one or more of the cross-bars D is pivoted on horizontal pivots G to allow the coupling member to swing upwards or downwards. The framing C is secured to plates A on the tractor and to brackets I. A tool-box is formed between the plates A with the housing B by a transverse plate H. A draw-bar plate as in Specification 571,819 may be attached to the above coupling means.
