Abstract
570,910. Dust separators. JENNINGS, H W. K (Sturtevant Co., B. F.). Dec. 13, 1943, No. 20837. [Class 23] A separator for the removal of solid particles from air comprises two sets of horizontal, curved, transverse deflectors 24, 30 arranged within' a casing containing two partitions 26 having curved ends 25. The first set of deflectors 24 arranged in inverted V formation in inlet 22 deflects dust-laden air along curved passages or concentrators 27 formed by the curved inner walls of the casing and the curved ends 25 of the partition 26, the particles being removed by skimming lips 29 extending tangentially from the casing wall into the gas stream and discharged down vertical collectors 29a. The second set of deflectors 30 arranged in V formation serve to reduce turbulence in the dust-free air before the air enters fan inlet 32.
