Class 23 In apparatus for separating solid or liquid particles from gas and comprising two or more fans 14, 12, 11 mounted on a shaft 13 and enclosed in a housing divided into chambers A, A1, B, the first chamber or chambers through which the gas passes are generally of circular crosssection, and have axial inlets and outlets for gas and tangential outlets for particles, 'whilst the last chamber B is of spiral cross-section and has a tangential outlet 10 for the cleaned gas. Guide blades 3 may be arranged in the inlet 2, and the last chamber may have slots for the discharge of particles. Gas moistening apparatus according to Specification 769,821 [Group XXVIII] may be mounted in the inlet of the separator.
