Abstract
561,907. Knitting - machines. KRETSER, R. Sept. 25, 1942, No. 13511. [Class 74 (ii)] In a circular machine having means for feeding wrap threads to individual needles, the supply spools 76 are mounted upon pins 75 arranged on bars 73 disposed conically around the axis of the needle cylinder 52, and the threads are led from the spools to the usual pivoted thread guides 60 through apertures 86 in a conical plate 88. To provide wider spacing, the apertures 86 are arranged in rows each disposed at an angle to a radius of the needle circle. To make the fabric described in Specification 561,339, the machine is a multi-feeder one, and at each feeder three pattern wheels are provided for selecting the needles to take either one of two course-wise extending threads or, alternatively, the wrap threads. The threads leaving the spools may be tensioned by devices each comprising a forked member 78 having aligned apertures 80 through'which the thread is led, and a spring wire 82 having at its free end an eyelet 85 and urged away from alignment with the apertures 80.
