[Class 74 (ii).] A curved strip 34 is secured to the thread-feeder cam box 27 of a circular machine having warp or wale thread feeders 22 so that as it is moved past the feeders a length of warp thread, sufficient for wrapping around the needle, is drawn from each of the bobbins. A curved wire 35 forming a second thread draw-off means may also be secured to the cam box 27 for drawing off thread to form the needle loop. Means may be provided for adjusting the device 35 in unison with the adjustment of the ground knitting loop. In a straight bar machine with fixed needles the warp threads may be drawn from the supply by a bar 97, Fig. 16, which moves in the direction shown by the double arrow. Means comprising a ring 37, which may be arranged either inside or outside the circle of warp threads 40, may be provided for taking up slack in the yarns. An externally arranged ring may be of rubber or other flexible material. The warp thread is preferably supplied from a reel-type bobbin, provided with a friction pad or like for tensioning the thread, and having a thread-guiding device formed by a bent-up wire, and the warp thread-guides are mounted upon a head carried upon an adjustable support so that they can be raised or lowered or moved laterally of the knitting-machine, as described in Specification 364,108. According to the second Provisional Specification, the means for adjusting the feeder-head may be applied to the adjustment of a rib dial, transfer head or other head or dial associated with the main needlecylinder.
