555,887. Drying grain and grass. KENNEDY, D. S., and NEWMAN, J. E. June 23, 1942, No 8599. [Class 34 (ii)] Hot air and gases from a furnace delivered by a fan g are directed by a flap h alternately along ducts c, c<1> below trays a, a<1> supporting the grass or grain to be dried, and dried grain discharged from each tray in turn into a pit d is elevated through a pipe i into a sacking hopper by a blast of air delivered from the fan through a duct i under the control of a flap h. Hoods above the trays may be lowered to allow the air and gases passing through wet grass on either tray to be recirculated through a duct k<1> controlled by a flap f and leading back to the fan.
