555,250. Wheel tyres. KENNEDY, D. S. July 6, 1942, No. 9330. [Class 144 (ii)] Chains or girdles for pneumatic tyres of road vehicles comprise a series of interconnected shoes each embodying two parallel twisted bars 1, 2 extending transversely across the tyre and secured at their ends to oppositely-inclined faces 5, 6 of channel pieces 10 which hold the hinge pins 12 of side flaps 14. Metal wearing pieces 21 and inner channel pieces 18 may be secured to the centres of the channel pieces 10. Specifications 367,249, 465,639 and 539,065 are referred to.
