Abstract
554,133. Pumps for concrete and the like. CHAIN BELT CO. Dec. 18, 1941, No. 16322. Convention date, Dec. 27, 1940. [Class 102 (i)] Pumps for concrete and the like of the kind described in Specifications 412,282 and 469,148 are so constructed that an increased output is obtained by combining the outlets of two or more pumps together and driving these from a common source in such a manner that either of the pumps may be put out of action without interfering with the outlet of the other pump or pumps. As shown two pump units R. L of the kind described in Specification 469,148 are driven from a motor 22 which drives by a multi-pulley 26 and reduction gearing 38, 39 a shaft 40 to which is fixed a clutch element 46 with which can be made to engage two pinions 45 which are in constant mesh with pinions 17 serving to drive the actuating cranks 15 of the pumps. Either of the pinions 45 may be slidden out of gear with the clutch 46 by means of lever and link mechanism so arranged that the operating levers are moved in the same direction to throw out the drive to either pump.
