Abstract

552,212. Press-button fasteners. UNITEDCARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Jan. 2, 1942, No. 75. Convention date, Jan. 6, 1941. [Class 44] A snap-fastener socket has the yielding studreceiving socket-member proper 11 protected against permanent distortion by a lateral pull on the stud by means of a concave cover 20 with a central aperture slightly larger than the entrance to the socket 11, the rigid edge of the aperture limiting lateral movement of the stud. The concave formation also leads the stud to the entrance to part 11. The socket is of the kind described in Specification 545,892, substantially S-form in cross-section and comprising a diametrically slotted cylindrical portion 11 with inturned rim to engage the neck 6 of the stud surrounded by an integral and slightly higher conical wall 13 with a curled rim 15 within which prongs 21 of an attachment member 22 are upset. The cover 20 is secured by rolling its edge over the rim 15.
