Abstract
551,815. Air filters. JOSEPH, E. L. Jan. 27, 1942, No. 1138. [Class 8 (ii)] Filter medium g passes in zig-zag form over rollers m through a casing from a feed roll d to a take-up roll e, tensioning rollers j, o and corresponding abutments k, u being provided. Leakage of air is prevented by flanges p with which the fabric is pressed into contact by the air pressure. In addition to this pressure, plates q may be provided which are drawn together by springs rand adjustably forced apart to press the flanges p against the medium by wedges t engaging blocks s on the plates; the wedges may be operated together through rods u connected to a movable frame v.
