Abstract
550,716. Wireless signalling. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 21, 1940, No. 13287. Convention date, Oct. 11, 1939. [Class 40 (v)] Electrical means is mounted in the vicinity of the propeller of an aircraft in order to modify the distorting effect of. the propeller on the radiation pattern of the aircraft antenna. A tunable dipole antenna 3 may be mounted near the propeller 1 and substantially parallel to the direction of polarization of the main antenna 2. Alternatively a tuned circuit coupled to the propeller electromagnetically, Fig. 2, not shown, or electrostatically, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be. used.
