[Class 40 (v)] An antenna system comprising one or more antennae having one end close to a conductor, from which radiation of undesired polarization is emitted, is provided with two or more conductors arranged one behind the other so as to screen off the undesired radiation. A reduction of the unwanted radiation, in a direction opposite to that in which direct shielding occurs, may be effected by placing the nearest screen in such a position that the unwanted radiation, and that from the current induced in the screen, are in opposite phase at points removed from the screen. The screen may be tuned to the operating frequency. The invention has particular value in overlapping beam equi-signal systems in which the transmitting antennae are placed on the top of a building or vehicle covered with mesh,
