Abstract
550,434. Girders. CAPELLA, D. D., WAKEFIELD, J. H., and COOKE, R. T. Sept. 2, 1941, No. 11215. [Class 20 (iv)] Girders are wholly or partly encased in interlocking concrete blocks. A pair of such blocks, Fig. 1, fits against the sides of the webs and around the lower flange of an I-girder. Abutting surfaces beneath the flange are oblique and inclined, or stepped. End surfaces are formed with opposed grooves which may be grouted up.
