[Class 106 (i)] A device for use in solving problems relating to water-streams for fire-fighting or other purposes comprises a circular disc a, a segmental piece b with a part cut away, and a transverse scale c, all .connected by a centre-pin p. In use, the segment b is positioned so that the curved portion b<SP>o</SP> registers with a circle a<SP>2</SP> showing the size of nozzle to be used. Scale c is then positioned according to requirements as to any one of discharge per nozzle, pressure at nozzle, height or reach of jet, or allowable loss of pressure per 400 ft. of hose, when the required information can be obtained from the other scales.
